Need Help with Attic wall openings
May 28, 2013 in Design Dilemma
We are turning our attic into guest rooms / storage/ bedrooms for the two younger boys. The main half with the ugly triangular openings will be covered by shoji sliding doors, making it a Japanese theme room. Although I love the open wide panorama windows, we need to half the whole space for the two boys. The center wall will have a door, a closet Narnia type Asian style wardrobe opening to the boys room. My sketch is of the boys side of the space, I'm aiming for a Mr. Tum-nus ( Narnia) theme . The "tunnel" leads to another inner niche for storage/play room. Inside we are going to cut open a circular window. By the tunnel is a window seat. The opening to the first niche is one "room" and the center is a closet and then the second "room" nitche. Now, dilemma is that the triangular openings needs to be left unwalled for airiness/ and light as the beds will be inside the inner niche. Any suggestions? Aside from putting a curtain...Should I just close it and make it a mini book shelf for each boys? Thanks
