You want to use wood pallets for trim ? Why? And what do expect it to look like ?

If you are prepared to do a lot of carpentry or know a good one who is inexpensive, go ahead. Each pallet needs to be deconstructed, and cut down to size (width and thickness) , no warping and ensure it is woodworm free and mould free.... Once you are sure of all that the labour entails, I think the principle is great - but perhaps would advise caution as you proceed

I want to use them b/c they are unfinished and rustic. Its for a beach house so hoping to add character. Not so worried about the labor, Surely it cant be any worse than buying lumber, cutting, sanding, priming, painting, etc.

I get your point but the quality of the wood can be poor and and uneven most times and the lengths are short so there's lots of piecing together but if you want to save a tree and are up for the challenge go for it

Now you know why they call me 'treehugger'. Like I said, cant be anymore of a challenge then starting from a fresh cut piece of pine from my local supply store. :)

Anyone out there ever seen this done other than as a full wall?
