Empty Nest Home Design

We are soon to be empty nesters and want to build a home to retire in. Design questions such as how small is too small for the secondary bedrooms(2), how much room do I really want for a washer and dryer, which way do I want my living room/kitchen orientated on a south facing lot are hanging us (well me) up. I don't want to build something and then regret the design. How do I make it easier to make a decision?

The best way is to get a fantastic architect onboard ! Someone who will put you at ease and answer all you queries - who's aware of local planning rules etc ... It's an exciting time and with the right people to help you - it will be an easy process ! I really hope you enjoy the experience !!!
You can do a search for architects in your area here on Houzz too !
Kind regards,
Karen at OnePlan :-)

Agreed, an architect would be able to help you defining your options and has knowledge of most space planning standards.
