i just finished this one for about 10,000. it has a putting green, fire pit and pergola we also installed a wall instead of spending $5000 for a BBQ island and just roll our bbq into place behind the wall. it's a great idea and looks great. the best are probably paving stones that have been manufactured. the natural stones are more brittle and can crack. the paving stone manufacturer will guarantee them again cracking for 25 years. I would choose Angelus or Orco as the cheaper alternative to Belgard. Belgard is a very good stone but you will pay a little more for that kind of quality. I would stay away from slate it tends to chip and it's real expensive. Make sure you get someone that is reputable to install them the must be installed correct way complete with concrete bond beam and not angle irons. excavate all the way down at least 6 inches and put in about 3 inches of class II aggregate. it cost a little more but well worth the extra .50 a sq. foot. plan on spending about $10.00 per square foot if you have difficult access or about 8.50 if you don't depending on what you need excavated. have them put in conduit to run lights in the future if you ever need them it will save you a bunch of hassle. call 323.707.2181 and I'll turn you on to the guys that did our backyard they even through in a 10 x 10 pergola for free! pretty cool guys.

I would recommend Techo - Bloc or E.P. Henry pavers. The pavers are generally $3.50 to $5.00 a square foot depending on size and shape.
