Help! I don't know what color to use for my big master bath!

sunsun5June 8, 2013
I don't know what I was thinking, painting my bathroom this very dark teal. Originally, I wanted something similar to a Tiffany's box color; a light blue. I got way off track selecting and tediously painting this room. Part of the white trim/door's are primed as well as a semi-gloss white, which I would like to keep. I am unsure of what color to paint the cabinets or should I keep them white, as well? I most definitely plan on re-painting this to another color. I like Benjamin Moore paints but am open to anything!

I love your color. I think you only need to add accent colors and accessories. Add some lighter teals and teal green accents. Yellow.

Rug is for 'color inspiration'.

You have a wonderful large bath. It can handle this dramatic rich color. I would keep it!

For the cabinets, I would leave white. Painting another color would take away from my vision of this being a sophisticated dramatic bath.

I would definitely change the color. its not complimenting the already dark stone on the floor.

Actually I don't think it's bad at all but I'd tone down the stark white doors as it is a high contrast with the paint and slate tile. Perhaps picking a shade in gray or beige might be better. Something closet to your fan blades.

If you changed the mirror you'd probably feel that it was updated. I love the color of your walls by the way.

and then pick a color for the trims because the white is contrasting too too much

I really like the Tiffany blue color. What color is it and who makes it?

LB Interiors-Thank you for your input; you bring some great suggestions to my conundrum. My counters usually are free of clutter, but all has been out of control with this large painting project!!!

Sherwin Williams manufactures a paint colour that perfectly matches the light blue and teal tinted hue of a Tiffany's Bag. This shade of Sherwin Williams paint is called Tiffany Blue. Not sure where to purchase it from as I'm from Australia . Hope this helps

Any lighter colors will work for you, I wanted to assure you that the current color 'can' work. Initially, I was trying to save you money, energy and time. Good luck!

Sorry it's not the right name it's more grey than blue - I will keep looking - Sherwin Williams does have a lot of colour samples for that colour - Do you have a tiffany bag or anything with the colour on it as you can get a paint shop to colour match from any item .

Thank you, loveofdesigning! And all the way from down under, no less! I found this wonderful website called www.censationalgirl.com. She includes this photo of Tiffany Blue colors. Fortunately, I am surrounded by paint stores in the area; Sherwin Williams, Home Depot, Behr paint, Benjamin Moore, etc. Yes, I do have several Tiffany boxes to compare!
