Need help with my narrow walkway/garden area

The view you see towards the fence is what I see through my front door and full glass storm door when i leave the house. This is a walkway/path to the area where i store my garbage cans. It also leads to the uncovered carport.

I would like to make the view that I see through my storm door, a nice view using shrubs, plants or trees and/or new pavers to replace the old small ones on the path.

What ideas can you share?

Thanks

My budget is between $500 and $750.

Hi, I think I would use quite large pavers as stepping stones, perhaps in a slight arc, surrounded by small, crushed rock/pebbles. The arc idea is to add interest, take your eye away from the straight lines & shed. Not sure what area you're in, but I would use a selection of potted plants, placed on the crushed rock. At the end of your path I would place a bench or seat. Surrounded by more potted plants.

Potted plants will look nice but are definitely higher maintenance than those planted in the ground. Consider adding a wide trellis (or several narrow ones side-by-side to save $$) near the wall of the bldg on the right and plant some vines on those. Arc stepping stones as Sharon mentions and add lots of low-growing plants like hostas and ferns (or plants appropriate to your region) on both sides of the walkway.Put a water feature and a bench at the end of the walkway. It will be beautiful.

Don't know where you live, but I would include some rosemary and seasonal basil plants. Rosemary smells great if you give it a swipe as you walk by. It's become a popular as a shrub in the south. Maybe expand on it to become an herb an herb garden.
