I NEED to get organized. I have this 70" wide desk. I am looking to make a great working/organized area over it. What can I do?

Ballard has some great shelving/organizing units. I love that green office chair!

Can you turn desk so you are not sitting facing a wall? Pull desk into room more. Like yr paint, chair color. Play off those. On a very dark wall brighten it up with white built-ins on wall. Some good tips on post above . You might get a new desk. Bigger. Two sided. Maybe glass top. Dark crisscross legs. Pier One has one. Or Restoration Hardware, has some nice things.

I would also prefer if you were not sitting back to the room. If you put desk and chair facing the room, you could put an ikea Expedit behind you (they come in different sizes).
In this photo desk is facing wall but just to show the storage

I have a small space and it needs to face the wall so I think the 1st photo looks great but I am after more of a built in style like that....

We used this office as our inspiration. Everything we got is from Ikea except for the desk top. My husband made that from particle board. http://www.ramblingrenovators.ca/2010/09/office-update.html The attached pics are of our project

I like the idea of the desk facing out..(although can look messy with cords so maybe not) if you leave it where it is, I would not put the shelves over the desk...hard to reach items..place on the side wall instead..maybe a cork board over the desk for reminders and family pictures.
