Help with this small space

I need to remove the mirrors they have rust spots on them. Having a carpenter make a custom platform for a vessel sink to open up the very small closet like 1/2 bath. Looking for suggestions for replacing mirror. Walls are faux with leaves impeded in a muted bronze color, floors neutral. Would mosaic work with a mirror some place else, but where?

Hi Laura, congrats on your remodel -- how about just replacing with new mirrors? They look nice.

Thanks Ed, but was hoping for a little more pizzaz as this is the guest bath.

Not sure how your new vessel sink will be oriented, but your might consider a corner mounted mirror something like this.

How do you mount something like that? I guess a hook on each wall?

Are you suggesting mosaic on the wall or counter top?

I was thinking the wall, but didn't know whether all three sides would be too much for a small area.

Can you orient us to the rest of the room? Where is the door? Where is the toilet? Based on the placement of the light switch, I'm guessing the door is to the right of the sink? In that case, l'd consider doing sizeable round framed mirror on the wall to left of the sink so you would see as you walk into the room. It might make the room look more spacious and draw your eye away from the odd angles of the sink wall. Perhaps you could then add some smaller scale pieces of artwork over the sink for interest. I don't think there are any "rules" that state your mirror must be over the sink....especially in a small powder room. :-)

Was going to angle it that way as the depth is only about 15 1/2 inches so to fit a 16 inch vessel would need to go that route.

ellyn143, thanks for your input too. Yeah the angles are weird. Toilet is about four feet maybe five from sink, and the door is a pocket door. Not in the house just yet, so cannot give exact measure.

Do you have enough room to angle the base of the sink to the widest mirror? Here's a rough drawing showing what I mean.

The folks over at retro renovation have some great suggestions on preserving/updating bathrooms. They also have a big passion for the pink. I tend to think these funky spaces can often be modernized in affordable and creative ways. www.savethepinkbathrooms.com/

Small Bathroom Vanities

You should look at small vanities. They do come in very small sizes. Then orient it toward the wide mirror and center on that wall. Remove both mirrors and hang towel ring on that little wall.
