I am visiting my parent house and they just got brand new carpet. The only things that need to stay is the large furniture. They are also redoing their bath and so you see the new vanity and cam ode. We are going for relaxing and traditional with POPS of fun.

Have they thought about replacing that old mini blind with something more updated and fresh looking? There are so many other window treatment options these days that can really bring a room together.

@ Two Blind Guys- what did you have in mind? The theme idea is tranquil and calming. It said to me that earth tones would look great. But I don't know how to account for the color of carpet.

Have you ever looked into honeycombs? They work great in bedrooms because they provide you with light control and privacy. Here are some photos to give you an idea

I agree with Two blind guys room darkening Cellular shades with a top down bottom up option would work great in your bedroom . I would also suggest adding some drapery to just frame the window and give you a softer look.

The optimal place for the bed in this room is under the window. They will enjoy optimal secure and restful sleep if you put it there. Here is a tutorial to help.
