Kitchen/dining lighting

We took down the wall between the kitchen and dining room of a large house. Putting in island as well as a large table in the "dining" part but also will have a dining room. Can we use vintage copper lights that were in the house over the island then use chandeliers (also came with the house) over both tables? Not sure of mixing the two. Thanks for your input. House was built in 1959.
