We are building a house and have come to the stage where we are picking windows...we have decided to go for aluclad wood composite...olive green on the outside and natural scandanivian pine on the inside...we were thinking of oak doors and architraving and also wooden floors...wondering now if all this wood will be a bit much????

An example of the windows and the doors above....would it look better if we went for a cheaper wood ( red deal) on skirting and architrave and painted them white to lighten the look???

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!

Also maybe glass panels like this might be good to break up the wood effect???

I believe you can't have too much timber! Timber is natural and it all blends together no matter what colour.

Thanks Carol!! I agree...love the wood effect and that why we are going for the wooden doors, windows and floors...I guess I'm just panicking now just before we make the final decision that it might be a bit overpowering!

Really appreciate your comment! Thanks!

All of the wood doesn't have to match which may be less scary for you. You might get tired of everything one color.

I think this will look beautiful! I understand the panic mode, had a few of those when we were building as well!
