Is it ok to mix copper and stainless steel? If so to what extent?

Stainless steel and copper are as reactive as other combinations but mixing metals is never a good idea. There must be separation to prevent a reaction. A little space is good, a rubber membrane is better.

Maybe I show further express my question. Might I use copper on say a wall picture, a decorative owl on the counter or hanging measuring cups when I have all stainless steel appliances?
