Lived in house 24 years. Have recently removed a shower insert and replaced with tile. Floor is a different colored tile and so is tub and counter. How do I tie it in without removing floor. Will be removing tile around tub to replace fixtures and building access panel. Open to replacing counter and fixtures....please help...

A soft butterscotch color could look nice. Get a counter to match your trim color. Then go with oil rubbed bronze fixtures- don't forget the cabinet pulls. This will give the bath an old world feel and pull it all together. The Ultimate His & Her Bathroom Traditional Bathroom Benjamin Moore Ben Paint, Cork

I can't really tell what color they are now- they are looking pink in the pics. But if they are in bad shape paint them. Sand lightly, prime and use a good quality paint- it is worth the extra money. A quart should do it. Paint 2 coats lightly sanding between each layer to give a perfect finish. I would choose a color 2 or 3 shades lighter than the wall color you choose. Kelly, would you put cabinets under tub and paint with tile on the top or tile completely? There is a pic of shower that shows half of the counter and cabinets. Wanted your opinion. Thanks!

Not sure what you are asking....are asking if the tub surround should be wood on the sides? Wood is less expensive. You do a bead board treatment easily, put tile on the deck and a bit up the wall. You could even bead board the wall, too. Use a good paint and water resistant caulk and you will have a water tight surface. Tile is more contemporary and bead board more traditional.
