Thank you all very much for your terrific ideas! I'm very excited about the possibilities! One thing i failed to mention....the siding is steel. And the vertical beams can't be removed without leaving a void in the siding (siding goes to the edge of beams). I love the craftsman idea (couldn't find idea book - sorry i'm new to this), and the contemporary approach is one I hadn't considered but can definitely see how that might work too. What are your thoughts on removing all siding/brick from front and putting something else up? And would love a darker color --- but can the rest of the steel siding be painted? Thanks again for your advice!
