How to transition one baseboard to another
June 22, 2013 in Design Dilemma
We bought new baseboard for the dining room after putting in the new wood floors. But it doesn't match the rest of the baseboard in the house. Is there any way to transition? The new baseboard is not only different but also higher than the rest.

Ironwood Builders
Take a piece of the old baseboard to the local builders supply (not the big box) and look for a match. Return the new stuff. Less footage to buy than replacing all and even if you have to custom mill it will be cheaper in time, energy and money...of course...those are all really the same thing!
