Need help with landscape!!

I have 3 lab dogs that love to dig and make a trail around the retaining wall. I need a dog friendly landscape.

You could knock down the wall and build a deck and patio set. A patio over where you have the cement currently, and some stairs up the little grass 'hill' and then a warp around deck on the side of the house. that would be beautiful and useful!

Your sloping yard is ideal for a rock garden. Remove that wall and some of the grass to create an attractive garden with a stone path for the dogs. The side of your house looks very bare and could use some small treees and shrubs . Below is just one example.

I see in the second pic that you have a drain running through the area as well. First, I think you should add some more soil between the wall and the current grass area. It looks as if it has washed away. You might want to add rocks then as Caroline suggested so that the soil does not wash away. It can be done so that it is saving your soil, but still looks decorative. Add some assorted sized rocks and then plants. By the way, day lilies would grow well near the pipe to hold back the soil as well and will like the water.

Labs... so much destruction attached to such forgivable faces. That's evolution at work.

It looks like your issue is a combination of erosion exacerbated by the pups running and digging in the area. Sweet Caroline's idea is, I think, the right direction - some nice boulders and river jack in the highest traffic/erosion areas will help keep the dogs from digging. From there you can extend the rock garden idea along the top and bottom of the wall. A local landscape designer who understands water, dogs, and plants can help you get a great finished look.
