Love the stair runner but have a question...
June 24, 2013 in Photo Questions
I noticed on a couple of your homes that you don't attach the stair runner to the riser (i.e. there is some space at the top of the risers). Why to you install this way? Is there any right or wrong way to install a runner to the risers? Thanks so much!

Great question. There are two ways install a runner:

1. "New York" style or "upholstered" is when the carpet wraps around the riser.

2. "Waterfall" style is when the carpet is pulled tightly to the stair tread below showing a slight gap. This is used with "busier" patterns typically.

If you are unsure, the best thing to do is hold the sample both ways on the stairs to get a visual of which style you prefer.

Thanks for asking!
