What color white for wood paneled basement?
June 24, 2013 in Design Dilemma
I'm planning on painting my wood paneled basement white but i'm not sure which shade to go with. We are hoping to make it lighter and brighter. There are a few windows but generally, it gets very little natural light. The carpet is a sort of beigey color that we don't love, but not in the budget to replace right now. The sofa we have selected is a charcoal color (link below). I have been thinking of dove white, linen white, cloud white.

Thoughts? Thank you!

the baseboard heater ... can that be painted? looks like it was selected to coordinate with the paneling and the carpet.

I've been using a BM shade called "vanilla milkshake" lately and really love it.

Also, have you considered dyeing your wall to all carpet? http://www.dyemasters.org/go/index.php

Yes, you can paint that baseboard heater no problem - do it all the time. I'd paint all the rim and shutters (or remove them) too while you're at it. For color I suggest trying some samples and see goes what best with your rug.
