Does the door open into the kitchen or open out onto the porch/deck?

The door opens out to the deck. There is a small overhang on the outside, and we didn't want the door in the open position to block kitchen cabinets. It worked well in this scenario.

No insect screens needed in Seattle! (I wish that was the case in Austin TX!)

The turquoise color is Behr 500F-6 Hallowed Hush, matte finish.
The yellow in the far background is Benjamin Moore BM HC-12, matte finish.
The white thru-out (cabinets, trim, ceiling) is Benjamin Moore OC-130 Cloud White.
The kitchen paint color is SW 6183 Conservative Gray.
