What kind of wood?

I want to do something like this in my own bathroom, but I am concerned about using wood this close to my shower and tub. What kind of material is this?

Thank you for your question. If you look closely you will see that the tile from the shower extends beyond the shower glass by 3" the remainder is a wood panel on the tub front. There have been no issues with water migration to the wood panel.
