I love working with leftover paint chips. There are endless possibilities of things to do with them. Here are three of the framed works I have made. The large red-framed one is aprrox. 2 feet by 3 feet features a mirror in the center. The smaller ones are 8 by 10 inches and 11 by 16 inches. Fun to do on a bad weather day.

I am planning a project for this winter using the paint 'color cards'. It is to be a large image with horse and rider but instead of using the whole card, I will be using a small hole punch to make wee circles for the 'pixels'. Pixel art is pretty cool.

This sure brings back memories of my youth, I have never used paint chips for it but glossy squares cut from wrapping paper glued on an angle and there it was ! Harlequin wearing his costume, I got an A+ on it in art class

Terry, on some of my artwork I use a silkscreened grid which makes dots out of the pixels behind.

Those are really nice. I like the 'overlay' idea.... opens up all kinds of possibilities for materials... aluminum grids, window screens and the such. I have experimented some with window screens.... using each 'cell' as a painted pixel but as of yet I have not done any larger works with it.

I teach creative writing, and I use paint chips for writing prompts. The colors, as well as the fun names, make for great stimuli. Every year or so I make stops in the home improvements store paint centers and update my collection.

Another of my recent paint chips creations. Apparently I was in a 70's flower power mood this day.
