Balancing the old with the new for a successful kitchen remodel

The homeowner wanted to keep the existing golden woodwork and flooring in their home. I needed to create a new kitchen that would work in their existing footprint and provide an updated look, but also work with the existing wood tones. I toned the floor and did a two-tone glazed cabinet option to bring it all together in harmony.

Very, very nice. Looks like a $100,000.00 kitchen.

Looks like some of the cabinets were changed especially along the fridge wall, maybe the island as well.

It definitely was not a 100K kitchen! Probably about half that. As for changing the cabinets, they were all changed, but kept in the existing location so that we didn't have to repair the wood floor. We did add on a bit to the end of the island and also included a memo center on the pantry run wall.

Love the cabinets going to the ceiling. What did you do over the sink? Any pictures?

It is difficult to photograph that side because of the window and patio door, but it was kept somewhat open, with cabinets flanking either side and then I added smaller decorative pendant for interest.
