This discussion of "to paint the trim or not" has come up many times.

There will be some people of the "paint it" camp and some on the "leave it" camp.i am usually on the paint it side and would be in this case.

Mameyerc - we had dark trim when we moved into our current home. After replacing all the base boards when we painted a room, I also roughed up all the trim in each room, two coats of primer then my white trim. It depends on what you like but it really brightens up a room. That is my humble opinion.

Yep, a personal choice. It looks like you like craftsman style which IS a lot of wood. The wall color, curtains, furniture are all dark as well. So, if you really like the wood trim, try painting the walls a light color (Swiss Coffee?) to brighten the spaces. Here is a photo of lots of wood, but notice the walls (and rug) is bright, with a hint of the brown leather sofa. :)
