Help Finishing Bedroom

July 4, 2013 in Design Dilemma
I am looking for help with the final details of my bedroom. Specifically lamps and wall decorations. I found a design inspiration that had mirrors above the headboard. I am wondering if that would work here.

I think that since your headboard isnt rectangular that a mirror collection would look great! I like the clean neutral palette...I do not know what type of art you like....feel free to look over my portfolio....if you want me to superimpose my work into your space, I am happy to do that for you. :) And I give Houzz discounts, so do not be afraid to ask! http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/1-sharon-cummings.html?tab=artworkgalleries

Are you going to change the headboard then?

How about something like this?

It'll give the room so much more color.

Or if you're looking for mirrors, this may work:

I like the idea of different mirrors as bookworm suggested a lot!

If you weren't sure of the mirrors above the headboard, center a large piece of art and use the mirrors behind the lamps on the nightstand. Some dramatic drapes at the windows in ivory to keep that peaceful tone on tone look. And a chair. Every bedroom needs some place to sit.[houzz=

What a restful monochromatic room you have. I want to sleep here. ;-)

Art over a curved headboard is problematic. How about a wall of trees instead?

Then art can be on accent walls...maybe tie in with whatever theme is in the wallpaper or mural.

I think your lamp is too normal for your room's shape, maybe replace it with a chandelier sputnik pendant lamp would make a bright point of your room.

@Angela Pascoe, I'm using Photoshop Elements. I go steal furniture and accessories from around the web and redecorate people's rooms while they're asleep or out shopping. Sometimes when they return, they make me virtual fruit salads with raspberries. (If they like my work, that is. Sometimes I just get the raspberry.)

Main problem is, by the time I get a room done, everyone else has already weighed in. When I started working on this room, there were zero comments. Gotta learn to work faster.

Good catch, justin, on the boob lamp on the ceiling. That has got to go. It definitely needs to be replaced with a pendant or chandelier.

@groveraxle, funny, I use olio but it is hard to upload stuff from houzz there. I have my bed, dresser and want to add end tables from here.

Angela, I just checked out olioboard. I gather it's all online? I assume you upload pictures from your computer to your own library there, which means you first have to save them to your hard drive and then upload them. An extra step, it seems to me.

The biggest problem with Photoshop Elements is that you can't reorient furniture, like turn a chair sideways. So I find myself looking for furniture whose only attribute is the way it's turned. Got some really gross chairs on my hard drive, but they're facing the right way. LOL
