What color to paint this house?!!!

Hello!

Owned this house for a few years now and inherited the blue. A bit more bright than we would have ever chosen. Hard to pick a new house color which compliments the tan roof color. Any suggestions? The interior style of the house is beachy and would love to carry that theme outdoors. Thanks for your suggestions!!!

Yes, white siding with black shutters are a very classic look. Here is another idea.

If you are looking to keep with the beach look. Paint the house a sandy brown and paint the door Aqua blue. Put a pretty starfish on the wall above and between the garage doors:)

If we moved away from wanting to keep with the beach theme what colors would you suggest being sensitive to the roof color?

Check out some of the paint company websites. Benjamin Moore has some interesting combinations. The trick is to find one that works with your roof colour. Your beach comment made me think this might appeal to you....
Country Manor
An analogous color scheme of buttery beige hues creates a pleasing palette with a warm coastal feel. The front door, painted in a rich, spicy orange, creates a welcoming entrance.

Body: boardwalk (1102), Trim: timid white (2148-60), Door: etruscan (AF-355) http://www.benjaminmoore.com/portals/bmps.portal?_nfpb=true&_br=1&_pageLabel=fh_home&np=public_site/articles/get_inspired/gi_curb_appeal_may2012

I also think a grey scheme with white trim that mimics cedar shakes would be beautiful....

If it were my house, I would paint it a soft yellow with a French blue door:)

Perhaps just lighten the blue or use sage green.

I would paint it red with white trimming and a black door!

That roof is throwing me off. I'd say do a light beige/yellow, but your roof would be too similar in color. I'd probably do some sort of light blue-green or sage green as Chad Yates said.

This is one of my favorite schemes lately on a repro Colonial house….white on white. Either leave the door white…very beachy or paint it your favorite.

The house is beautiful. I actually like the blue, but you could reverse the scheme: white house, blue or green shutters/door

Consider acadia white AC-41 from Benjamin Moore for siding and trim. It's a creamy white similar to fine, salt water sand. Key off of roofing for a very light brown shutter color. Then you can pick up warm blues or greens for front door, eg BM Florida Key Blue 2050. Also suggest you break up the expanse of the garage door wall with an arbor over the doors.
