Love the bench

Would this work in an outdoor desert environment?

It should be fine for desert conditions. If you are building it, just make sure the wood has been air dried for a while. All depends on what type of wood you choose and the climate. This wood was dried for over 1-1/2 years but that was for Alaska's climate. Cannot imagine it taking more than 3-6 months for fir/spruce to dry in the desert.

Working on a new bench right now with textured stainless steel panels for back rests. Will post when it is complete.
