Hi there! There is no specific standard height for mounting a wall sconce over a vanity, as it really depends on the size of the mirror. If you do not yet know the mirror size, the rule of thumb would be 80 to 85 inches above the finished floor.

If you do know the size of the mirror, you can tell us and we can give you a more specific answer tailored toward your particular setup.

Hi again, the above answer actually pertains to fixtures mounted above a mirror. The rule of thumb for mounting a fixture on either side of a mirror is approximately 66 inches above the ground. Sorry for the confusion!
