I have a cousin who has the same sectional (if not VERY similar) he mixed in red & grays as his accents. His home looks GREAT. Try adding items with abstract designs in the color scheme you decide to go for. The great thing about your sofa color is that it goes with almost any color. Since you cant paint, try adding a really nice big artwork frame on the top of the longest side of your sofa with a pop of color. I am attaching some pictures of designs which will bring life to the room. I personally love these unique type of frame sets because its not the "common" type. These are just ideas, obviously you can look online search for one you like and get the color scheme for your living room off of it.

I love the rug and that floor lamp has always been on my wish list. So what ton of wood should I go with? I was leaning toward white since the couch is so dark and every inspiration picture I found, designers hardly used dark seating. But I love the wood look

Mix the wood tones up- just do not go super dark.

I was thinking of neutrals, like brown, white, tan, gray and lack and a pop of teal or blue and maybe green. How many color can I use?

Oh and for furniture, your versatile as well. I personally like more glass coffee tables. But all this depends on your style. You can also try ottomans in an accent color.

Remember if you can't paint the walls, you already have enough white. Try the pastel colors your going for with the light wood and a pop color like the teal you metioned. or maybe a lime green?
