Yes! It's been one of my biggest pet peeves about this house! It's really not even a room per say, more like a REALLY TINY space!

I agree. You'd be better off moving the W/D to the garage. My In-laws did that and seem to be happy.

If you are simply using existing unused areas of the house to relocate the machines then it should be relatively economical to make the move.
