Bathroom Window Tile

Do you typically tile the inset/pane and the surrounding encasing of a window located in the shower? What other types of finishes may be applied or used?

what is the height of the window from shower?

The window is a similar height to the picture but we are hoping to use the window space as a shelf as well.

you can use the same color as your tile and make the shelf I normally like the second style but it covers your light.
