Want new flooring in kitchen and living room
July 13, 2013 in Design Dilemma
What is the most modern, yet durable flooring used in kitchens? Also, looking to replace the carpet in the living room, but not sure I want to give up the 'warmth' of carpet to replace with hardwood. Any suggestions?

Not many choices out there that could replace the look and feel of carpets.

My last home (midcentury modern) had red oak floors in the kitchen, living room and dining room. Loved it for the warmth and foot-feel. For me tile on the kitchen floor is too hard a surface to stand on, and way too noisy. I also think the most modern look is too have one flooring type.
