Can high hats 11' above a bed be bright enough to be used for reading?

Or are we better off with bedside lamps or wall-mounted lamps? Effect would be different.

Unless the ceiling lights are behind your head, they will cause more glare than good. Your pupils shrink, and then you need even more light. It is a vicious circle.
