Need ideas

I am looking for ideas of what I could do with this space. This room is where our breakfast table will go and there is a built-in desk. I am wondering what I could do in the desk area. We don't use the desk and I feel like its just wasted space. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

Why not just make it like a butlers pantry. Set it up for entertaining. Coffee maker, wine rack, the desk opening could store a wine cooler. Work it for your lifestyle! ;)

Put a round dining table under the hanging light fixture.

Use the "desk" area cabinets as pantry space. You could put fabric on a tension rod across the knee space.

You could also set up the "desk" area as a continental breakfast area, with a coffee maker, hot water kettle, and toaster. Put coffee, teathings, and baked items there. You might want a bagel slicer. Put an undercounter refrigerator in the desk kneehole for milk/cream, jam, cream cheese, and so on.

So is there anyway I could put a window seat there even though the windows are higher? Or would that just look all wrong?

Go to Houzz PHOTOS. In the search box labeled "STYLE," scroll down and click "Traditional." Enter "kitchen window seat" in the search box. There are 73 photos in this category. You will see some that have a "stair step" type design which I think would work well with your existing windows.

Best wishes.

I think you could make a window seat work but all the ideas for a butler pantry sound great without much work. 8 i think the idea of putting a curtain in front of the desk area provides more hidden storage without much work. Also think about window treatments they always always always finis a space! A simple valance would look great

PRETEND like you use it as a desk and maybe set it up with some cookbooks. a nice family pic propped on the wall or the letter of your last name. Make sure there is a chair in there and could a small tv cover up all the wires showing? A little message center.....bulletin board and/or chalk board?? I think it looks like a fun area! You might decide to use it! A lap top to put there at the chair????
