Laura, it isn't as bad as all that. I see lots of potential here. Do you have a color palette in mind? Something as simple as updating the floor, painting the cabinet, new counter and an accent tile could really change things up here. I see you have some tiles coming down around the tub. Is this a tub shower combo? Do you have a budget or are you ready to dig in big? Your idea book seems to be traditional with a bit of rustic....what were you thinking for the bath? If you are not too tired of the blue- you are actually right on trend with the new in color. But first things first, you do have to check to see what water damage is in your shower. Chances are you will need to redo the shower completely. I don't know if saving the tile is on your list of ways to save on the budget, but it could be an option. Taking the tiles off the bath walls may be a bit tricky if they are on there tight. You will then have to drywall in addition. My thought was to keep the blue shower. Get some gorgeous gray floor tiles and a marble or wood counter top. Paint the existing cabinet a darker gray and the walls a crisp white. Your floor tile looks to be in good shape and is not really outdated- if you like it you could pop out just a few and add gray accent tiles. You could do a border type layout or just random.

k so let me this right , i already had in mind replacing the tile,to a white using those oblong white marbled looking tiles, so you recommend the wedgewood gray for the cabinet, the abalone for countertop and the white for the walls right?

Yes....what do you think? I wasn't sure the level you wanted to take the remodel and I love reusing things that are still in good shape, but you may be wanting a complete over haul...which is still very awesome!

Ok, then I do think you may be able to resell the tiles- so many people are looking for retro bath fixtures. So you like a gray and white bath- lovely!
