What color should I paint the benches?

My roommate and I disagree with the color. He wants brown, I want red or white. We're just going to paint the benches and leave the table as is. Thoughts?

I actually kind of like this brick red colored bench that has a glaze on it in black/brown! That would look good with everything else.
Or did you have more of a lipstick red in mind?

I like the barnyard red idea. Maybe with a brown stripe around the side where the blue tape is? I'm clueless with this type of thing

you could leave it natural and add upholstered seat cushions in a lively print as suggested in the inspiration pic

here's another red piece of furniture for a color idea... ? Still has a bit of orange in it, but a little more on the red side!

I like them natural as others have said and add cushions you can change out. I'd really like to see some color on the walls.

Are the benches stable? The legs look a little bent in and wobbly on the one. To be honest, I could see going a bit wider on the bench portion with more bracing and support. These look a little insubstantial.

Yes, we still need to finish the bottoms with a foot rest and more stability

ryaneytch, did you make the table? I really like it a lot! Perhaps you could take a clue from the table and add some pipe when you make the benches more stable. It would tie the look together nicely as well. Personally, I would stain the legs to match the table top and paint the seat as you like--red!

Finish the legs the same as the table top. Paint the seat of the bench a red from your artwork.

I would not paint the benches white. Brown would be fine, but a pop of bright color would be really fun. Pick your favorite color and paint the benches that. Maybe a bright yellow or cobalt blue?

I LOVE the way Nancy showed the room with the painted red top and brown legs to match the table. Look how nice it looks with the pic on that wall!!!! I like the idea of adding the pipe to the legs, too. Have any left?
