Granite Grannies
I would say the style of leathered, brushed, or honed granite has a lot of longevity. First because it's a natural material. Secondly, soapstone was use a lot in the home in the 17th and 18th centuries, and has a honed texture. I think a more "natural" looking finish is actually more timeless. This kitchen sounds like it might be close to your style: Leathered Antique Brown Granite and River Valley Granite in Vienna, VA 1
