Help with my almost finished white kitchen!!!

Finishing up kitchen and need some ideas for backsplash. My original idea is to stick with white subway tile but thinking maybe something different. The granite is blue pearl GT which means has a definite blue hue to it. Want the granite to be focal point but was wondering about adding more color. Chose a dark blue for opposite wall. Should I just stick with white subway tile or what? Thanks

Have you considered marble? Still neutral but adds a little more interest. I think the white is very nice too - I just love marble :)

Glass tile is makes a beautiful and practical backsplash. You can get glass tile in almost any color from several vendors including discount companies like Floor and Decor. They have some nice glass mosaics that will add interest and depth to the backsplash.

A mix of colors of glass tile would look really nice, grays with white and black pieces.

My concern with the mosaic is that it will distract from the granite or be too busy. I'm no designer so have no idea. Just really like color. Thanks

If you want your counter to be the start I would avoid mosaic tile. If you do glass I would suggest keeping it in a subway tile shape.

Mosaics are only one option, there are larger scale glass tiles as well. These images show some glass tiles in projects we have done. The bright blue one is a back painted glass, not in tiles. Any color is possible.

since you like the navy, I would think about doing a white subway and adding a glass tile accent, maybe as a liner. If you go to a cool tile store, the designers there will help you figure it out. You might even buy a couple tiles to take home.

I would choose a subway tile, either in glass, marble, or ceramic, and either in a white, soft aqua, or blue-gray tone. You can either have it laid in traditional off-set brick style or stacked horizontally or vertically for a more contemporary look. No multi-colored mosaics; no accent stripes. Both will look busy and date your kitchen too quickly. A few examples:

I can not tell from the photo, but if there is a door right next to where you painted Navy, I would white subway tile with white grout that whole wall, floor to ceiling if the door ends the wall line ;)
