Need help with sitting area in master bath

We have an area in our master bath I would like to put a distinctive chair, side table and rug. The area is about 4x8'.

The walls are dark grey, bright white trim and the walls and other accents are a rich red/burgundy. We have a transitional decorating style, leaning toward more masculine styles. Florals are OK (see the mat in the photo)as long as they aren't too froofy.

The rug needs to be a brown/tan base, approximating the color of a yellow Labrador retriever. The darker brown of the mat that's there now seems to be OK, and a little lighter/darker would be OK. Color accents in the rug will be fine but trying to keep the dog hair contrast to a minimum.

The chair should be armless and comfy. Fabric color and material should be yellow Lab friendly as well. Really liking some of the chairs I've seen with burlap backs.

Bring on some ideas - I'm stumped!

World Market has an array of armless chairs, and they have some that are the exact color of your red curtains, and they are a velvet like material. Very affordable. You could also go the other way and get a bench by the window instead!

What is it you are trying to create? What are you going to use this area for?

I am leaning towards bench in front of window or a chaise with storage. Your lab would love this!!
