Does a hall runner need to cover the entire lenth of the hallway

i have a bench at the end of 14' hallway... does the bench need to be on
the runner/or can the runner only cover part of the length..thx!!!

The runner does not need to cover the entire length of the hallway. If your bench is running along the length of the hallway, it could, but doesn't have to have, two legs on the runner. If the bench is placed perpendicular to the length of the hall, at the end of the hallway, then it certainly does not need to have its legs on the runner.
