Interior designer - questions about hiring

I am looking into hiring an interior designer to help picks colors and finishes for an entire house remodel. I know that costs vary quite a bit, but can anyone give me a general range for this? I am not looking for furniture, window coverings, art, or anything like that. Thanks!

It varies a lot depending on where you live and who you choose. They should be able to tell you what their hourly rate is, and approximately how long it may take based on the size of our home. Many will come to your house free to give you an estimate, and that gives you a chance to see if your styles fit together well. Maybe between $100-200 an hour. If you can get advice for colors and finishes in a few hours, for an average sized home, you will have saved yourself a lot of money in expensive re-dos and paint samples!
