Can I use a utility sink in basement bathroom?

I saw this utility sink and kinda fell in love with it. We are finishing the basement and will be doing a bathroom with tiled shower in gray with glass tole accents. (I think). Is it a terrible idea to use a utility sink in a bathroom?

Why would it be? You're simply thinking " outside the box". I think I saw that sink at Costco, it's very nice.

It was in Costco! I thought it was so cute, good storage, and a great price.

Have a utility sink in my laundry room. Had NO idea how much I would use it before I moved in. Anything big and ick gets washed there. Boots. Sports equipment. Pots for plants. Love mine.

Keep in mind you may have to place the cabinet on some kind of base that is a little bit smaller than the base of the cabinet. If you look at cabinets they usually have a space under the cabinet where your toes can go, so you can get a little closer to the sink - otherwise it may be uncomfortable to use.

Is the sink big enough to bathe dogs.

We're redoing our laundry room and this is perfect fit! Where is your Costco located? I would love to pick this up!

All Costco's carry basically the same merchandise, throughout North America. You might even find it online and have it delivered.

I saw it in the Washington DC Costco...but I'm sure it's available other locations. The sink may be big enough to wash small dogs, but its not huge, more deep than it is wide.

I love it. I saw exact same at our Costco today but it was $299. I thought it was a good price and it includes the faucet and a washboard on the side. I do a lot of hand washing. I don't take anything to the dry cleaner, including my suits and coats. I've been using plastic tubs and the kitchen sink. This is the best I have found, even though I liked better a hand made one with the tin tub I saw online. You choose any type of base you like, you put an aluminum round or oblong tub on it and install a faucet on the wall. I liked the type used for free standing bathtub. It's a DIY laundry station. I see these posts are from July 2013. I understand the increase in price. I Costco had them before for $199, but they had better ones that were stainless steel look for $299.

initially thought "...you can by why would you want to ." and then saw the sink. I say go for it - definitely different and kind of cool looking.

As long as you don't connect it to any plumbing, it should be fine. If you do connect it to a drain, make sure the fixtures are at an elevation that will allow them to gravity drain, or install a pump. A utility sink in a secondary bathroom makes it more versatile. I know this is an older thread but I had to comment anyway.

I'm glad it was revived, because I like that utility sink for my laundry room. From my quick research it seems that Costco still sells them. I'm sure the OP has made a decision by now. :)

Mark B. pointed out the problem with replacing a regular sink with a deep utility sink. The plumbing won't work. :D

I saw that sink at Costco way back when as well and considered it for our laundry/1/2 bath. I loved it but it was too large. We ended up with a very small one and just today I needed a bigger one. I haven't seen it there since though.

Actually I was looking for this sink back in July and never saw it. However, it's funny because today was the first time we saw it at our Costco in New Jersey. It was on sale $249 and it was only the display model and wasn't in good shape so we passed.
