Beautiful mirror with great detail. It may be a little too close to the color of wall so I don't know if you would consider putting a darker glaze on it to really highlight the details or not..you can see the difference it makes in this picture. You obviously wouldn't have to do the glaze that heavy but I think it would great!

I like the mirror, however it does just really blend in with the wall. Paint it!

Ok I'm confused because someone on here suggested the blue mirror? What color would I paint it? This has been a hard space to fill.

I personally like it *as is* and I do like the lantern next to it. Could you put the gold bird on the end table just to the right of the lantern and take a pic;)

I LOVE IT! I know how hard you have worked on this room and what a struggle this mantle has been for you. The shape works up there and so does the color.....and you cannot see that outlet behind it. CLEVER....it will be our secret! AND the lantern.......nice touch with it!!! Your pillows are smiling to see the yellow up there, too.

It certainly adds character however I'd rather see more mirror than frame depending on what it's reflecting.
It's understandable you would use a round shape which doesn't fight the angles of the ceiling and wall above.
You could still use rectangular shape with a dominant frame.

wow -- that does look like a challenging wall space to fill. I think you did a great job finding something that fits the scale of the space. Margo's idea of adding the yellow bird was a good one. Can't wait to see the finished photos.

I agree that it should be painted or glazed to highlight the details. The details are lovely but can't be seen.
Your going to place the mirror centered I hope. The lantern thing is too tall and white, almost as big as the mirror.
Maybe some candle sticks clustered on the left and some other item on the right. The white mantle should be painted - it just doesn't go with the lovely brick colors. How about a color of the bricks.

Adding that bird gives you one more item on the mantel.....and the perfect color, too! The plant on the floor also helps with balance there. I think you can relax now and know you are happy with that. So hate to even ask.....anything with the tv wall????

Genevieve- what I like about this look is the absence of a lot of color. Everytime I look at this post the photo make me calm, and I like that;)

Would you consider adding trim to the fireplace to make it more of a feature? I think then you wouldn't have to worry as much about what's above it because the actual fireplace itself is the feature and the decoration.

I accidentally posted this on your older thread, sorry!

abbyjean- My husband got his bigger TV(55 inch) so that helps a lot with that wall and tonight I'm hoping he will hang that round metal piece that I have. (To the left of the TV) I did put the lamp next to the chair like you suggested. Thanks! Hopefully I can post the picture tonight.
I will add a vase or candlesticks but just haven't got to that yet:)
Thanks everyone!

I liked your first mirror better than this one...sorry. I do think it needs to have more of a contrast in color with your wall color.
and p.s. I posted on your other design dilemma about this space. Didn't realize there were 2 going at the same time???? oops

not saying that the mirror you purchased is unattractive, just think a darker color would suit the space better. :)

@ Margo,
see that little bird on the side table? Well this is what Ii would add as more colour next to the yellow candle, that's about it no need for more .My door bell rang earlier so I couldn't completely explain what i had in mind :)

OK......this is how.......fussy......I am as I HATE seeing plug ins and outlets. SICK, I know! Do you have anything to put in front of the one by the table near the fireplace? A plant or a pot or a basket. Whew! There, I got that off my chest! LOL

It's ok. Don't hang to high. But also a silver or just cut glass sunburst would stand out more, just a little bigger. Add some color with lanterns TJMax has some in yellow etc.just a couple.

I am not sure the cut glass sunburst would hide the outlet on the wall right there.

Ya know, I like that idea....a lot! And that would tie the rooms together, too, in addition to helping it stand out from the wall more.
