What style rug would work in my living room?

I've been getting great feedback on how to redecorate my living room. I just purchased a glass coffee table and some drum shades, but now my newest dilemma is choosing a rug. I'm looking for something less traditional, but nothing too modern or overly patterned. I'm a fan of the Ben Soleimani flat weave rugs at Restoration Hardware but not sure how one would look in my space. A friend suggested introducing a new color, like blue or gray. Any suggestions for me? I don't have an updated image of my living room with the new coffee table and shades (haven't arrived yet). I initially thought about getting a shag rug but changed my mind.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You have a lot of brown. Go a teal shag. You won't regret it.

I'm currently obsessed with "over dyed rugs". You get the traditional Persian rug design, but with modern saturated color. I'm currently coveting one in a lime green, but they come in variety of colors.

I have been wondering how you have been doing, so I am happy to see you post again! I had to look up the rug you are craving and I like that a lot!!! Does it come in a gray? I love gray as it is the new neutral, which I always feel safe with. If not, I can see the one they show working in your room, too....just a lot lighter. The one you are looking at just seems so much nicer than a shag, so good choice there, too! Looks like it will last a long time and be so nice and soft!!!

I'm reupholstering the chair from my previous post to a solid weave so I have a little freedom with rug choice. I love the idea of an over dyed rug, but there are so many options!

I recommend a beautiful blue, gray or green tone. They are good and won't get dirty but make sure the tone is light enough to let your furniture and art on the wall really pop.

Those are both gorgeous. If you want to find something similar but not as expensive, try Room & Board. They have a beautiful low shag rug in solid colors as well as a beautiful cable and chain rug.

Thank you! I love Room and Board. That's where I bought the couch in the picture when they still had their more traditional line of furniture. The charcoal color is pretty in the cable and chain style. And one last question - what do you think about the end tables? I bought a glass coffee table from PB - the Tanner glass table, and now the side tables look a little off. I'm not loving the Tanner but maybe I just need to get use to it!

Thats so funny! I actually really like the tanner coffee table. Its clean, simple, and sleek. Did you get it in square or round? I like the end tables you have now, I think the light wood softens the space with the glass coffee table. If you do decide to change them, I can look online and see if we can find a few options for you.

I got the square. It's a nice piece for sure. Sturdy with clean lines. I'm happy you like it!
