Chandelier for small dining room?

Help! What kind of ceiling light fixture should i get for above our dining table in our small dining room that only has 7.5' ceilings? (Old house, constant struggle.). A retular chandelier seems too much, maybe a larger pendant light? We tend toward sort of " transitional" style. Thanks!

Darzy, thanks! I think semi flush mount is the smart way to go.
