Help please! Small dining area.

Just downsized to a condo and have installed a lovely white high gloss kitchen. However, the only dining area we have is 8'6" x 7'3". Our rectangular 3' x 5' glass table seems a bit tight. Would a round 4' diameter table be better and would it accommodate 4 comfortably, 6 at a push? Any suggestions would be a great help.

I believe if you place the chairs with backs to corners you will have the most space. Six will be tight as you should have 24 inches available behind each chair.

Thanks for quick response Joanne but, just to confirm, you would recommend a round table would be best?

can U post a pic? round tables are usually the best choice for a smaller dining area - additional chairs can be placed at table more comfortably than rectangular table.

Glass topped tables look better in a smaller dining space as they keep the floor area open visually. You can change the look anytime with a tablecloth or placemats
