Are you painting it a dark blue?

The bar is actually a dark gray with blue undertones. The rest of the walls are Classic Gray. Just don't know what to do about the white holders under bar or the bar stools.

ok, got it...I would paint them the same as the sides. Once the bar is painted then decide on the stools. I like the white, but yellow might be nice, too. I see pops of green and yellow in the space....one of those maybe?

The corbels you have are really simple. You can replace them with fancier ones, but that's not what you asked. What do you think about getting beadboard and nailing it up there, or easier, beadboard wall paper then painting it, just to add a little texture? I think it'll hold up to the kicking. That's not what you asked either. Okay, I think you should paint them the same color as the wall, get them to blend it, not stand out.

lol..it is just paint! I would do a touch of color. Do you have throw pillows on the sofa? I see lemons on the table- I love yellow and gray.

OK two cents more!!!!!!!! First, please know that this is not about criticising anyone or hurting anyone's feelings.
When I look at your photograph, the Blue paint and White chairs look like they're in the wrong room. You cabinets, appliances, backsplash and dining area all play nicely together. The blue paint and white Oriental inspired stools look out of sync. Here's some thoughts........Wrap the side/s of the bar with wood. If you can purchase a couple of Kitchen cabinet doors that match your cabinets.....great! Paint the brackets low sheen Black. Then paint a stripe a little wider than the bracket down the front (stool side) of the bar. Buy panels (or have stained Maple plywood panels cut to the width of the space between your brackets) and install between brackets so that they run up to the bottom of the bar shelf and the spaces between each panel are seen. Now you have a finished bar that works with the rest of your kitchen. I can do a better job of the "How to" if you like the idea. Anyway, next you can either leave the stools white since they tie in your drapes, or, paint them in black also. Once they're done, go to a sewing shop and get a yard of cotton ticking material in shades that work (like White & Blk. or White & Blue). Sew two "pockets" the width and depth of your stools. A handful of pillow fill in each. sew white cloth ribbons to each of the four corners. Loop the ties under the seats and tie around each leg, or to each other. If you hat this idea just tell me (I can take it!). Good luck, Jeff Brooks
