I love the look of this tile. Does it have a rough texture like slate? It's hard to tell...

Hi there,
Thank you for your inquiry. Quartzite is a natural stone very similar to slate. The texture is somewhate rough, but it is not shaled like slate (does not have layers).
Good luck - please let me know if you have any further questions.

Would you please tell me who sells the tile in the NW?

It's by Olympia, so most flooring stories carry it...at least here in SE Washington. However, when I tried to get it, what I kept getting told was that I wouldn't be able to get this amount of variation without going through every box and picking individual tiles. That would work with an in stock product, but it's special order....but who knows, I may have been misinformed...I ultimately decided against it because of how rough of a texture it has and I had concerns of how to clean it...

I just went a totally different direction. I ended up with a 12 x 24 gray porcelain tile. It has some texture to it and every tile's not the same...paired it with white marble accents....

@wilpots -
Thank you for your inquiry! If properly installed and sealed, this stone is a great product for any flooring application. This stone is extremely random and we got this variation directly out of the box. According to my supplier, that variation is standard with this stone.
I recommend going directly to the Olympia website: http://www.olympiatile.com/
and clicking on the "locations" tab. I know there is a distributor in Kent, Washington, but do not know how close that is to you. Regardless, when you find the closest distributor, contact them for your nearest retailer.

I hope this helps - best of luck to you!
