I think the term you mean is cabinets with face frames. It's a beautiful traditional way to construct cabinetry and it costs more because it's more work to do. It's a lovely high-end look.

Most of the high end "modern" kitchens you see on Houzz will have "full overlay" fronts.

Many of the more traditional high end kitchens will have "inset" doors, but even some of them will have full overlay.

Both are more expensive then an overlay door that is not a "full overlay".

Inset cabinetry is about 30-40% more than traditional standard cabinetry as there is no wiggle room for error. Full overlay is about 20-25% than standard cabinetry and about 10% less than inset. Inset is much more traditional but also makes your drawer space smaller vs full overlay makes drawers larger. Full inset is a more traditional look, whereas full overlay can be traditional or modern depending on the door selected. Full inset is beautiful if you like to show off unique features like hinges- but then be prepared for higher hardware cost because exposed hinges can be pricey.
