I did the poll wrong. Will try this way. Which one is your favorite?

Is the floor walnut? I am assuming that the slatish color tile will stay... I vote for 1 or 5which is more monolithic looking as the tile seems to have a lot of variation in texture and color.... with the caveat that you should consider all the other colors and finishes in the room/area.

Sorry I should have explained. I just laid the samples there to get an idea for a similar slate colour. The floor is being put in a new build throughout. Number 1 is jatoba, 2-4 are acacia and 5 is walnut. I'm looking for something really durable so it looks like I will pick one of the acacias. Thanks a lot I appreciate all opinions.

I think # 5 will work; however: I recommend you look at the new images that have been posted on our home page. We have engineered walnut that you may prefer to the boards you are showing here. Warm Regards Sydney

We absolutely feel in love with walnut, but it is too soft. We finally chose Mercier São Paulo in a satin finish, dark tiger wood with a Janka score (hardness) of 2160.
