Does anyone have any suggestions on what color to paint my room?

Hi Lori, I would go for a cool toned color. Maybe a grey or even a dark blue!

Before you paint, buy an area rug to go between the sofas and a similar colored, but not matching one for the table. Use the colors in it to determine your new color direction. You should move away from beige and tan, so add your own favorite color to the mix - you might look in your closet for a direction to go before shopping.

While I love this color, it does not work with your furnishings......which you already know. The furniture and the rug seem to be one as no contrast there, either. You need some pattern in the room and the rug is where to get it. I can see a cream working on these walls, too. Sounds boring, but I can see it working with your furniture. I would also love to help you rearrange the furniture to break up the LONG feeling in the room and things either lined up on the walls or running down the center of the area.

Go a teal, white trim. For a contrast to all the beige.

Add contemporary art big and bold colors. Pillows and lamps with silver or blue/green tones. Put roman shades on yr windows. Nothing on French doors. If you can part with one of the sofas, I would replace with 2 chairs in a print. Or let both and go a small sectional, in dove gray leather. Do you have a TV? Seems like sofa should be down by fireplace and a rectangle table where sofas are, or do you need a dining table? Sorry got carried away. You just wanted paint color. Sorry.

A cool shade of green with white trim would also look great!

I think a navy or dark red would be perfect.

I believe any darker shade will make your room appear narrower, particularly due to the ceiling bulkhead. I agree with abbyjean, that a rug with colour will improve the look and then accessorise to match the rug. Perhaps a coloured coffee table as well. This room has loads of potential and really is a blank canvas particularly with a neutral coloured sofa.

I know it comes down to personal taste, but this is a lovely colour pallet.
